This is the first initiative of its kind, open to all Italian and foreign, to raise awareness about the world of art and cinema. There are two categories under: video (short films and documentaries of up to 30 minutes) and photos. The prize, € 5,000 for best short film or documentary, 2,000 for the best picture.
There are numerous issues on which the competition aims to draw attention: the fight against racism and xenophobia, human rights intercultural dialogue, integration and social inclusion, valuing diversity, education and training of young people in multiethnic society.
Registration is free and each artist may enter with a maximum of 3 works for the video category, with five photographs for the photo section. The short films and documentaries (maximum length, as we said, 30 minutes) have been achieved in Italy during the period January 2006 - July 2007. Ditto for the photographs, which can be in color or black and white, digital or slides, printed on photo paper, 20x30 cm.
The works must be sent by registered or by courier, not later than July 30, 2007 (the postmark will and handling) to: Medfilm Festival Onlus, square Dalmatia 25-00198 Rome.
